Latest group of Dino's students set to show off

Students from Dino Capone's School of Rock, a Forestbrook area business that teaches youths to play music, will showcase their talents tonight on the big stage at the House of Blues during the latest in the Myrtle Beach Rocks! series of concerts.

The show will take place at 8:30 p.m. tonight and will showcase the talents of four different bands of kids ages 6 to 17, Scorched,  Shattered, Broken Strings and The School of Super Cool. Tickets are available for free at Dino's or for $5 at the door.

It's a great chance for folks to come out support local efforts and the youths that represent the next wave of Myrtle Beach music. The bands will also perform a free show at Hard Rock Cafe on Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.

We'd love to tell you more, but we simply cannot trump the efforts of Charles Slate, a great The Sun News photographer and former colleague of our editor, who has been watching and following this great group of kids since they started their instruction in June.

He's done some awesome photos and video and written a really compelling story in today's Kicks! to match, so please do yourself a favor and go check it out.

Here's a quick sample of his work:
